When I first saw this, I thought of the airheads sours wrapper. Last night I posted a video that got a few of us on the topic of Van Gogh. One of my friends brought up his yellow period. Of course I had to dive down the rabbit hole of that one. In a lot of his art, he used yellow because of how it was made with chromium, which he believed would outlast any of the other current paints. It’s the way that he use the yellow that is most interesting. He liked painting what he could see But he somehow made that yellow work for so much of what was on the canvas even if we wouldn’t think yellow when it came to those things. He was also a realist because he painted in even the dieing parts of what he saw. In his famous sunflowers paintings the sunflowers were actually dying. One was made as a gift for a friend (who pretty much turned on him) and the most promising touches were the dying parts. He found a way to make them almost jump off of the canvas with techniques that most people didn’t use and he taught himself. He saw an entire life in just one color… a whole canvas of emotions centered around one color. I think that’s pretty nifty.
These are hand dyed so they are similar but not identical. In the event that more than one is purchased, we will match it with the most similar in the batch.
Superwash means you can wash these, but please use a cycle that uses lukewarm water and a low heat dry. Air dried and hand washed are best.
